Hip hip hooray!! You persevered past November and downed December like a champ. We all may have over-indulged our bodies and wallets during the past two happy holiday months, but it’s alright, it’s all OVER now. Have no fear or regrets as now is the time to get back on track!
During the holiday months, your body takes a huge beating with traveling, shopping, over-eating, STRESS and so much more. Re-establishing a self-care and wellness routine can help restore and rejuvenate your system in the new year/new decade!
Restore yourself with hydration. The holidays can bring on an excessive amount of alcohol, and many times, drinking water can fall to the wayside. Staying hydrated is a natural way to flush your system. Increasing your water intake after the holidays can provide muscle and joint flexibility, improve cardiovascular health and sharpen your concentration.
Make sleep a priority. The holidays wait for no one. Between hosting parties, attending events and prepping for the holidays, you can find yourself not getting enough sleep. Get back into a routine of going to bed and waking up at the same time. Also, limit your screen time before hitting the pillow. Getting enough sleep can help reduce stress, lower the risk for diabetes, and heart disease and increase endurance.

Now revisit your daily or weekly routine that was in place prior to the holiday season. Pace yourself. No need to bite off more than you can chew. Start scheduling your exercise classes in advance or start making your appointments for regular chiropractic adjustments. Getting back into a self-care routine is beneficial, both mentally and physically. Happy 2020!!!
